I have been reluctant to write about this issue: incontinence and the urge to run to the bathroom, but still wetting my pants… because I was afraid to admit that I am not young any more.
10 years ago, after my hysterectomy, this problem began. I learned special exercises, I took special supplements, but it didn’t get better.
I have about 100 panties, partially because I’ve needed two, sometimes three pairs a day.
Now, I can’t tell if this issue got better because my blood sugar stabilized (it has) and I am less thirsty, or because the pelvic floor got stronger from the Hydrogen Peroxide Therapy, time will tell.
I can tell you though, that even when I run from the car because the urge is incredibly strong, my panties stay dry. Halleluyah.
I once saw a move (Goodnight Mister Tom 1988) that its most dramatic moment was when the little boy ran down to drag his “foster father” upstairs to look at his bed that was dry for the first time upon his awakening. I cried. And I think a lot of people cried.
So, every morning, nowadays, I have the same victorious feeling like that little kid in that wonderful movie.
